You need to eat, even when you’re grieving. I’ve noticed this is hard for many people. You may not feel like eating, or you may have too much brain fog to put together a meal. Or maybe eating alone is new and unfamiliar. Here are some things to keep at home that will quickly feed your hunger without much effort. Write them on a grocery list so you remember to shop ahead.

Easy

  • Hummus & Flatbread

  • Carrots

  • Olives & Pickles

  • Cheese & Crackers

  • Yogurt

  • Nut Butter & Apples


Medium

  • Hard Boiled Eggs

  • Steamed Potatoes & Green Beans

  • Tuna (On crackers, or bread, or lettuce)

  • Smoked Salmon with Greek Yogurt & Bagel

  • Salad

  • Cole Slaw in a bag with Bottled Dressing

  • Sliced Radishes with Salt & Lime


Frozen

  • Spanikopita (spinach & feta cheese pies)

  • Cooked Shrimp (Thaw in Refrigerator, serve w/cocktail sauce)
